Eve Weiss earned an undergraduate degree in cultural anthropology at UC Berkeley and an MS in health policy and management at the Harvard School of Public Health. She was the Project Director for the Health of Philadelphia Project, for which she managed the Institutional Review Board process; contributed to project development and implementation; directed fieldwork, including managing the team of undergraduate research assistants; and collaborated with Dr. Carolyn Cannuscio through data analysis and the production of peer-reviewed journal articles, audio-slideshows, and other project deliverables.

Ms. Weiss has worked for two decades in community-based research, the philanthropic sector, and non-profit evaluation.  She has run a range of large-scale health policy and outcomes studies, including an evaluation of New York City's Medicaid Managed Care program during her time at the United Hospital Fund.  While at the United Hospital Fund, Ms. Weiss also managed their grants program, which distributed $11 million annually to New York City based non profits and health provider organizations. She has conducted evaluations of programs targeting low-literacy individuals and coordinated the efforts of six community-based organizations in New York City to provide Disaster Relief Medicaid, short-term emergency health insurance after 9/11/01.  She has extensive experience with a range of evaluation methods, including focus groups, interviews, and quantitative/qualitative survey research—all of which were employed in an evaluation of a program to offer grants to low-income healthcare students.  For an evaluation of the Massachusetts WIC Program, Ms. Weiss managed focus groups, developed the survey, directed fieldwork, and analyzed survey results.  She and Dr. Carolyn Cannuscio have worked together successfully in co-leadership roles on multiple projects, including the Health of Philadelphia Photo-documentation Project and an assessment of the Health Impact of Urban Greening for Philadelphia's GreenPlan Initiative.
